My cousin’s beautiful family came in for a short visit from Syracuse to the farm. Baby Oliver looked delicious in his striped onesie and Adrien had a field day with the horses. After our shoot, I finally had the chance to make pumpkin pancakes for everyone, and sat in my kitchen surrounded by the morning light and the warmth of familia.

These freckled faced cuties, who are practically my niece and nephews, ran around one of my favorite parks in Middletown for a few snapshots, ending with a sibling pile on. The best kind.

Bonjour! October is brilliant, the leaves are vastly changing and warm essentials are becoming, well essential. Flannels, scarves, wool sweaters, worn leather boots and knitted hats are rummaged from closets, and in our case, packed for our annual camping trip (along with Maude, our little frenchie). We visited magnificent wolves this weekend, flooded our nostrils with crisp woodsy air, warmed our souls with mulled cider, and laughed really, really hard. By the way, wolves may just be one of the most beautiful animals on earth.
Once we returned home, I took my bi-weekly trip to Whole Foods (which is down the street, sadly for our wallets) and made a Columbus day fall feast (or just dinner) starting with a roasted butternut squash + apple soup followed by a whole chicken (a favorite of mine in the fall) with brussels sprouts and parsnips. Shawn and I began to watch Game of Thrones (um, hello addicted) and settled into our campfire smelling clothes on the couch.

Ten years of friendship has led me from late night dance parties in the Summer, to cross country road trips, to endless tropical getaways, to moving into new homes, to every tear filled or laugh till we cry convo, to standing behind a camera snapping away at my best friend and her husband-to-be in the golden light on a Sunday in September. It’s crazy to even think how the time has flown and how it’ll soon be her wedding day, but he we are, somehow all grown up. Life sure is whirlwind. A wonderful one, to say the least.
We started at the farmers market, a place they both frequent and love (being vegetarians and all), and headed to a close friends home on the Shrewsbury river right before sunset. The air was still and we wandered through rows of dahlias in the garden. I can honestly say, it was perfect.

Briefly after meeting this lovely couple, I rejoined them on their wedding day on an August afternoon. Married in a small chapel in Bay Head followed by ice cream cones on the boardwalk and sea mist on the beach and a trolly ride, Shawn and I had such an amazing time shooting these two. Thank you both for your wonderful energy, overwhelming love for each other and the fancy-free outlook you had on your big day. We loved getting to know your fun & charming personalities and hopefully will work with you again soon (babies?, aaaahhhh!)

Oh, hello. It is officially fall so let the blissful autumn photos commence! Shawn and I shot a beautiful wedding on Saturday in a gorgeous historical club house (which I am so excited to share, eeee!) and fell in love with our bride & groom, Colleen & Todd. After work, there is always play. Sunday we went out for a seasonally delicious lunch (yes you, autumn squash ravioli with roasted brussels sprouts and chanterelles, I clean plate clubbed you), bought a bottle of wine, rendezvoused at Eastmont Orchards, met friends, picked entirely too many apples, a few lumpy gourds and a pumpkin which will be carved shortly. We visited the beach for some drinks, took deep breaths and welcomed October. Did I mention I truly adore the fall? I visited the barn for a meet & greet with three new fuzzy members (and Pepe). I can’t even. Thankfully, my serious animal obsession is kept under control with weekly visits to the barn and all of their adorable babies. Win, win.

And although I have no pumpkin pancakes for you, I baked the crap out of some mini apple pies (which are gone already). Skinny isn’t happening for me any time soon.

Oh hi! This week was chocked full of busyness and loveliness, friends, flowers, guinness and wine. Always wine. I did a lot of shooting, including a wedding up North and my best friends engagement session (coming soon!)
Luckily, I have a lot of fur babies to keep me sane and happy during the constant rushing around. And my fig tree is bountiful, supplying me with handfuls of delicious snacks on the go.
Hope everyone’s week has been as wonderful as pumpkin pancakes ( that’s next week’s post).

Inspired by one of my favorite Morrissey songs, I’m excited to announce a little corner of my blog that is on a more personal level. Everyday is like Sunday will be posts based on my weekend (or week depending on how busy I am with work), frames of what I love to spend my free time doing, adventures, food, friends, and just tid bits of what I see through out the week. I sometimes forget my camera shouldn’t only be used for work and I should pick it up daily since I’m constantly taking mental snap shots of this beautiful life, everywhere I go . So here is the start of my lovely tiny corner of the internet. I’ll try to update weekly, even if it’s one photo.

When Janette first contacted me to set up an engagement session, we had originally planned for the beginning of summer. After numerous heat waves, thunderstorms and life just being crazy, we finally came down to the week before the wedding to whip up some magic. On an early Wednesday morning, her and David came to my hometown to shoot in the area. He loves fishing, she loves horses, so I knew exactly where to take them. We stopped at a few marinas in my town and scrambled onto some unsteady docks but David always guiding his lady. The fisherman were busy washing down their boats and the morning sun was just rising. Her stunning long blonde hair was what some girls dream of and Dave brushed it gently from her eyes when the wind blew. Sounds pretty romantic, right? We ended the shoot at one of my favorite locations, my own backyard. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients light up when they first look out to the farm. Because to me, the view still has me in awe and to see others appreciate it the way I do makes my heart happy. These two were so incredibly sweet, I felt overjoyed to have the opportunity to have met them and capture their story. I am super excited to share their wedding soon!

As I was going through and archiving some old files, I stumbled across a wedding I shot with my dear friend Christina Lilly in Pittsburgh, May of last year. It was in a gorgeous barn an hour out of the city, with the ceremony held in small neighborhood in Pittsburgh. It feels like forever ago, but I love going through Christina and I’s adventures and our journey getting to where we are today. It’s always such a unique thing to have a good friend to learn and grow with in this industry, that you can trust and support and count on. I can’t wait to shoot with her next month!
